First appearance of this tract from Hannah More's Cheap Repository: "Shewing how James Stock from a Parish Apprentice became a creditable Tradesman." Written by More herself (and marked at the close with her signature Z), this chapbook features a title-page woodcut of the pivotal moment when the now-prosperous Mr. Stock discovers the son of his former master begging at his door.
ESTC records several variant printings, none of which are common; in the present example, the title-page gives both "Cheap Repository" and "Great Allowance will be made to Shopkeepers and Hawkers" in italics, and there is a semicolon after Bath in the imprint.
