The superintendent provides a good introductory essay on on-going and planned improvements, including a flower garden, the design of which is shown on a plate; the need for work for the patients so they can have a sense of purpose and usefulness; and wants expressed by the patients.,
The frontispiece is of the elevation of the hospital and its foregrounds and street running along the front of the property. It was engraved by the "Western Bank Note & Engraving, Chicago."
The work ends with lots of the usual facts and figures.
