The text begins with an engraved frontispiece by W.H. Watt after Sir Thomas Lawrence, and continues with => 37 in-text woodcuts designed by William Harvey, Thomas Bewick's favorite and most prominent student — many of them signed by well-known engraver J. Thompson with a select few by Thos. Williams, Mason Jackson, W.T. Green, and C. Gray (Moxon also published a version in the same year with additional engravings by Turner, not present in this issue). As a later edition of Campbell's work spanning his entire career, the text also contains endnotes explaining various lines of verse.
