Enriching this chapbook of poems by various authors are => 32 wood engravings by Thomas Bewick. Each month has two or three pages devoted to it with a wood engraving on each, most being of a bird, animal, or insect.
        Provenance: 19th-century armorial bookplate of R. Basil Cane; most recently in the children's book collection of Albert A. Howard, small booklabel ("AHA") at rear.

NSTC 2B21251; Hugo, Bewick Collector, 309. Original printed and illustrated wrappers bound in early 19th-century quarter green roan with green paper sides; leather scuffed with small rents at head and foot of spine. Expectable offsetting only with limited, very light instances of marginal waterstaining; a very agreeable copy.  (38913)   Please RESHELVE This.
