[Kendall, Edward A.].  Keeper's travels in search of his master. Newburyport: John G. Tilton, 1839. 24mo (13.4 cm, 5.25"). viii, [1], 10-120 pp.; illus.
$35.00

A dog story for children, originally published by Elizabeth Newbery in 1798, about a very good dog inadvertently separated from his master and his subsequent adventures and misadventures before reuniting with the man to whom he is bonded emotionally.
This is a later American edition: "New edition, revised," with => wood engravings signed "AH" (i.e., Alonzo Hartwell).

Boards with printed covers and green muslin spine. Binding worn; text with some staining and pages showing that the book was read a great deal. A "good" copy only but perhaps the more atmospheric for that.  (38766)   Please RESHELVE This.
