Neira Acevedo spent time as a political prisoner following the coup de etat o 17 April 1854 and shortly before committing this plea for a return to a non-military, non-dictatorial government, he was freed. But while this essay was in press he was arrested again, as per a note below the last line of text.
        Searches of WorldCat, NUC, and COPAC find only one library (National Library of Chile) reporting ownership, but we know of a copy awaiting cataloguing in a U.S. library.
        The front wrapper serves as title-page.

Original salmon-colored wrappers. Lightly soiled. Upper inner corner of most leaves with silverfish damage, not touching text. Rear wrapper with light waterstain.  (38743)   Please RESHELVE This.
