The Colombia government forced Archbishop Manuel José Mosquera (1800–53) into exile in 1852 because of his vehement opposition to a series of he felt to be legislative encroachments on his authority over benefices and "internal" church administrative matters. This is his publication while in exile in Paris of a letter of support from the clergy of Chile, with his letter to them.
        Searches of NUC, WorldCat, and COPAC locate four U.S. (Cornell, Fordham, Stanford, UTexas) and one British (BL) libraries reporting ownership, but we know of another U.S. library that owns a unreported copy.
